About us
The Green Mountain Speedskating Club meets regularly at the Spartan Arena in Rutland, Vermont.
Founded in the 1980s, our mission has always been to promote participation in and enjoyment of speedskating for all ages.
We are a proud member club of US Speedskating.
Our members range in age from 8 to 80, with skill levels from beginner to advanced.
We welcome new members of all ages and abilities.
Our coach and president, Dave Manfredi, is a seasoned speedskater and a certified US Speedskating Level 1 instructor.
Join us
To get started you will need:
Basic ice skating skills, being able to glide and stop unassisted
A helmet is required; a bike helmet will do to start out.
A pair of gloves, Cut proof, leather or similar
Speedskates.
if you have your own, that's great!
If not, we have skates available for your first session, and rentals are available if you decide to continue.
Cold weather athletic clothing.

If you would like to continue skating with us you will need to become a member:
dues are
$50 for individual.
$75 for families with two or more skaters.
Additional Information:
You are required to have a membership with US Speedskating.
Speedskates. You can rent from us if needed, and we will help keep them sharp.
Ice Time fees, each session is $20 per adult and $10 per child
